Two to five drop bags weighing approximately 35-50 lbs each are utilized at each checkpoint along the Iditarod trail.  We ship ~1500 lbs of drop bags out to the remote checkpoints before the race starts.  Drop bags for each checkpoint will include:  Red Paw (kibble) for dogs, meat/fish/fat for dogs, booties for dogs (14 sets x 4 booties for each dog), food and snacks for Tara, dry OR gloves, a dry Buff (for head or face protection), hand, toe and body warmers, a dry hat, fresh runner plastic for the sled, new lithium batteries for headlamps and GPS, chap stick, hydrating beverages, etc.

Sponsoring one of these checkpoints will help ensure the dogs and Tara have everything they need to stay warm, dry, happy and well fed along the trail.
